Omorika ali Pančičeva smreka zraste 20-30 m v višino in 2-4 m v širino. Ima ozko do srednje široko stožčasto krono. Veje so kratke, proti vrhu obrnjene navzgor, na sredini ravne, v spodnjem delu pa povešene z navzgor obrnjenimi konicami. Zgornja stran iglic je temno zelena, spodnja pa bele barve. Storži so viseči in jajčasti, dolgi 4 do 7 cm, mladi vijolično črne barve, zreli pa temno rjavi. valjasti, temno rjavi, okrasni. Dobro prenaša mestno okolje in mraz.
