Zimzelena pokrovna rastlina, srednje hitre rasti. Odgovarja ji sončna do polsenčna lega. Višina in širina: 40 – 60 cm, 80 – 120 cm Listi so zeleni z rumenim robom. V jeseni se obarvajo robovi listov v roza barvo. Čas cvetenja: junij / julij. Cvetovi so zeleno rumene barve. Če jo pustimo prosto rasti ob opori, lahko doseže višino do 3 m. Dobro prenaša urbana okolja, rez in konkurenco korenin drugih rastlin. Sadimo 3 – 4 sadik / m2.
Pritlikav, nizek, blazinast, gost zimzelen iglavec, grm. Zraste 0,2 do 0,4 m visoko in 1 do 2 m široko.
V višino doseže 12 do 15 m. Iglice so daljše, modro-srebrno zelene in prijetnega vonja.
